Get Ready For The Return Of The adidas NMD R1 OG

  • Several months after those first images were leaked, the adidas NMD XR1 OG Black finally gets a confirmed release date. This is a silhouette which has divided opinion with sneakerheads.The OG Black colorway of the adidas NMD returned earlier this month for the first time since its debut back in December of 2015. Some would have preferred the OG style to remain loyal to the original Nomad silhouette, while others are clearly impressed with this XR1 release.Who knows when we’ll ever see another release, but the OG colorway will be borrowed by other NMDs.Love it or hate it, you can expect plenty of hype on the run up to release.Seen above is the adidas NMD XR1 done up in the same colorway as the OG NMD.  Be sure to sign up for stockist alerts and updates via the bell icon above. We’ll send you an email when these eventually hit retailers.The shoe features a Core Black Primeknit upper with tonal detailing on the laces, heel cage, and inner liner.Black essentially covers its upper, while a white midsole and red/blue-colored EVA inserts reinforce the profile, as well as capping off its sleek and stylish aesthetic.

    Introduced in December 2015, the original adidas NMD will be releasing once again starting this weekend.As with the original, soft and lightweight Primeknit covers the upper in a deep shade of black. That contemporary aesthetic of the NMD XR1 is maintained including that synthetic cage which covers the sidewall, complete with a ventilated mesh window.A white Boost midsole with red and blue EVA inserts complete the OG look on this upcoming pair of NMDs.An embroidered tongue tab makes an appearance while a refined leather overlay sits at the rear.Defined by a micro-engineered BOOST and lightweight Primeknit fabrication, which references progressive styles such as the Micro Pacer, Rising Star, and the Boston Super — the technical lifestyle sneaker has been a crowd favorite since its inception.  While that would be enough to get most XR1 fans excited, this NMD showcases the OG treatment with red and blue EVA midsole plugs underfoot. This elevates the shoe into ‘Collectors Status’ making it a one of a kind release for this popular range.
